THE LISTENING TEST IS TOO FAST:
OF all the sub-tests in the IELTS this the one that seems to cause the most problem to students. The reason given is usually that the test goes '' so fast ''. The truth is that the test '' goes slower'' the higher your level of English!
Practice is absolutely the best method of slowing down the listening test. However even the best of us can lose our way when trying hard. One trick to ensure that you do not get left behind when listening to the test tape is to make sure that you have the ''topics'' of at least the next two or three questions you have to answer in your mind as you listen. Look ahead at the coming question at every chance you get.In this way, you are less likely to sit there listening for the answer to a question that has already come and gone.
